ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for ensuring Therapeutic Community (TC) program compliance through consistent facility checks and monitoring the environment. Must remain visible to the community at all times.

  2. Maintain ongoing communication with the resident structure to determine the overall environment of the community, identify problems and possible solutions, and help coordinate the smooth transition of scheduled activities.

  3. Oversee evening wrap-up and review meeting content in advance. Conduct or assist in conducting encounter groups, seminars and workshops as directed.

  4. Perform facility runs every two hours throughout the shift and ensure that the facility is secure.

  5. Oversee and monitor house and dorm GI, and oversee extracurricular activities as directed.

  3. Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office with internet capabilities.

  5. Ability to establish appropriate boundaries and un-possessive, professional relationships with all clients in treatment, including former clients served.

  6. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  7. Ability to take a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed, and considering larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns. Includes the ability to build a constructive team spirit where team members are committed to the goals and objectives of the team.

  8. Ability to operate general office equipment in the completion of job responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years previous experience working in a substance abuse treatment or mental health setting. Therapeutic Community experience preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CEUs

Must maintain required continuing education specifically related to any certification held, Phoenix House requirements, and regulatory and licensing agency requirements.

BACKGROUND CLEARANCE

Upon selection for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully pass the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check and the Department of Corrections (DOC) background check.
