Phoenix House Venice Beach provides residential and outpatient services for adult men who struggle with alcohol, marijuana, and other substance use disorders. Our evidence-based treatment approach delivers a superior level of care focusing on strength to meet each person’s unique needs.
Group therapy, individual counseling, and a variety of other wellness focused services are offered to those who are striving to overcome addiction, reunite with family, and live a life free from addiction. A wide range of group sessions are offered that address recovery dynamics, relapse prevention, life skills, trauma, and anger management.

(Full-Time and Per-Diem) Reporting to the Recovery Support Supervisor, the Recovery Support Staff (RSS) provides the operational support to facilitate the delivery of optimal clinical services to clients. They will ensure that clients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule, tracking attendance as required. Conduct routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security. The RSS reviews client property/items upon admission or receipt to ensure compliance with facility and program rules along with conducting contraband searches and drug screen analysis administration in accordance with policies and procedures.

Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred).OR
1-year experience in the field (residential facility, drug, and alcohol counseling) and High School diploma or equivalent.
Certified by a certified body recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) as an alcohol and drug counselor ( highly preferred)
Registered by a certifying body recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) as an alcohol and drug counselor prior to date of your hire (required)
- Two years’ experience working with substance abuse population preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and exercises independent judgment and leadership, analyze situations accurately, and communicate effectively.
Ability to write clear and concise reports that utilize data.
Must show an aptitude for service and for working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Must maintain a valid CA Drivers’ License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
