Phoenix House Lake View Terrace provides residential and outpatient services to teens who struggle with alcohol, marijuana, and other substance use disorders. Our evidence-based treatment approach delivers a superior level of care by focusing on strength to meet each person’s unique needs.

Patients in the residential program attend a fully-accredited on-site high school while receiving comprehensive treatment including individual, group, and family counseling, cultural and recreational activities, and life skill training. We also offer outpatient and intensive outpatient day treatment to teens ages 13-20. Youth and family counseling is also available in local high schools to service communities of the Northwest San Fernando Valley.

(Part-Time) Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor, the LVN is responsible for assessing and monitoring the client’s on-going addiction, recovery, and medical needs. The position collaborates with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate addiction and recovery treatment with medical treatments.


  • Saturday & Sunday, PM Shift



  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) registered with the CA BBS.


  • Two (2) years’ experience; preferably in substance abuse treatment and/or with adolescents, preferred.


  • Maintain current licensure/certification including CPR, First Aid, and Medication Management.

  • Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients.

  • Provide general nursing care services and administers medications.

  • Use professional nursing processes, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while carrying out nursing responsibilities.

  • Assess the health care needs of clients through a variety of routine interdisciplinary assessments, and develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing and health care plans accordingly.

  • Respond to emergency health care needs of the clients.

  • Perform health screenings of clients.

  • Collect and record data specific to the health status of clients.

  • Collaborate to develop nursing guidelines/protocols for medical and healthcare needs.

  • Monitor and clinically directs special programs such as infection control and medication management.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary planning meetings and recommends changes in nursing and healthcare programs and/or in the care of clients.

  • Must maintain a valid CA Drivers’ License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
