Phoenix House is looking for a Full-Time Overnight Counselor for our residential treatment program in our Ronkonkoma location.
The overnight counselor under the supervision of the clinical staff carries out activities that will support resident’s goal attainment through natural interactions within the milieu.
Work Schedule:Monday-Thursday 11:30p.m. To 7:00 a.m.
Models and provides pro-social behavioral interventions
Assist in the assessment of independent living and recovery skills
Conducts and documents appropriately room/bed checks (minimally every thirty minutes) to ensure resident safety and presence as needed
Conducts routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security.
Assumes lead duties for shift(s) as assigned, which includes ensuring that the program schedule is followed, all duties are assigned and completed by team during the shift and critical incidents are reported to the Manager on Call and appropriately documented.
Maintains accurate documentation in staff log, incident reports, facility forms, and/or other reports in a timely manner in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.
Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements.
High School diploma or equivalent
CASAC-T in good standing.
Minimum one (1) year related experience
Experience providing safety oversight/monitoring with chemical dependency patients in a residential setting.
Organized, responsible, dependable, sound decision making, professional boundaries and crisis management.
Phoenix House conducts background checks, fingerprints, drug testing, TB testing, verification of employment history and/or reference checks prior to employment.
