Description
Brooklyn Community Recovery Center Volunteer Duties:
Monitor front desk to receive visitors to the Center and provide customer service
Assist with maintaining and submitting visitor logs, group sign-in sheets, and outreach sign-in sheets
Support the operation of our Community Closet by assisting visitors and organizing donations
Contribute to a warm and welcoming environment by preparing coffee and other hospitality items
Assist group facilitators in preparing the room for activities
Assist outreach staff with conducting outreach including, but not limited to, in public spaces, at community-based organizations and facilities, and at community events
Role model recovery-oriented living for participants and visitors
Knowledge (will be supported in learning during volunteerism)
Trauma-informed principles for the workplace
Customer-service orientation
Delivering Culturally-Competent Service
Working with participants in substance use and mental health services
Harm-reduction principles
Qualifications
